Juniors (Ashley and Ashley)

I now have nineteen classmates, and I will continue to write about them. Just because. It will be a mini-series.

I began this series when we were all freshmen, but we are now juniors. It’s weird. Time really really has flown right past our pimpled faces.

Ashley Lee’s name is Ashley Lee. Never just Ashley. We don’t know why, but it just happens to be so. She’s a ballerina, and anyone can tell just by looking at her. Her legs are like a bajillion feet long, and her arms are no different. Continue reading

The story behind “Minky”

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted in this section of my blog. Sorry about that. But for this post, I wanted to do something special and explain the story behind my poem: “Minky.”

Minky was the name of my mom’s video shop. I don’t know if that’s the proper way to call shops that sell DVDs and such, but I’m going to call it just that. A video shop. Anyways, my mom’s dream had been to be able to work in her very own shop. So my dad made it happen somehow through multiple loans and multiple drinks with “close friends.” For the first two years or so, my mom was happy to be at work. But her kids (my sister, Janice, and I) were growing up. We were growing up with our grandma and without our mom. Also, during this time, my mom was developing a drinking problem. So, after a while, she decided that things needed to change. We (Janice and I) began to go to her shop every weekend. But my sister didn’t like it much, so it was mostly just me. I would watch cartoons from sunrise to sunset and run around dead T.Vs. It was fun.  Continue reading

Freshmen (Audrey and Jehane)

I have eighteen classmates, and I would just like to write about them. Just because. Maybe it’ll be like a little series.

We’re not exactly a big class compared to what’s in stock in the average high school, but we’re the biggest class in the entire school. Our school has a total of about 200 kids, and we range from kindergarten all the way up to the 12th grade. All in all, we’re not a very big school at all. I’ve known some of my classmates since 1st grade–far too long–and we know each other like the back of our hands. Well, I’ll start the describing in no particular order. Continue reading

Thought Bubble? What’s that?

Hi guys! It’s Gina. Well, lately (actually for the past three months or so) I’ve been in a writing slump. In reality, I don’t really have an excuse for this, but I just can’t seem to get myself to write and read like I used to. I’ve almost completely lost the motivation to blog regularaly; honestly, blogging now seems more like a chore than anything. BUT, I think I can make it fun again. The truth is that I’ve deviated from my original purpose for starting this blog (which is to have fun with writing and to start writing regularly) and instead began to look at it, like I said, as a chore. So, I’ve come up with a solution. Instead of having to write “heavy” stuff all the time, I created a section where I can just thought vomit.

Whether it be the random thoughts of a 15-year old girl, legitmate stuff I might have opinions about, questions, or things that happen in my very ordinary life, this’ll be the place that I will *try* to record everything. Emphasis on *try*. I’ve decided not to set a certain length nor a certain topic for these posts. It’ll be like my journal. Hope you enjoy reading about the crazy things that run across my mind every day:)
